Our Second Book signing was on August 11th at the Lighthouse in Auburn-Opelika. My friends Brigitte Howell and Tonya Wright had already had so much fun earlier eating the cookies and doughnuts my sister Chona Lane had prepared. We brought them with us and shared it with our gracious host Chico and his wonderful staff. There was a kind lady Darlo G. who had been patienly waiting for me to sign the prayer journal. She was so encouraging and you could just see her love for the Lord shining through. It was so much fun talking to the customers as this was a wonderful testimony and witness time for us all. I have placed their names in my prayer journal hoping to lift them up in prayer on Saturday nights along with many others. We stayed for a couple of hours and half of the books were gone and later my sister told me an Assisted Living Group had bought the City On A Hill Prayer Journals for their patients wanted to use it as a Legacy Builder. What an awesome thing God is doing with this book but then I have always known it was His book to write down our life story with Him at the helm. These people at the Assisted Living Group will see their life unfold before their eyes with new wonder that only God can show. I am humbled at the privilege to be a part of this--all of us can--just ask Him how.
Lesson Learned: Adventure begins when you seek God and there is something to writing it down.
Jeremiah 30:1 "This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: 'Write in a book all the words I have spoken to you.
That day was already wonderful but God added more--the next day. I had asked the Lord to be able to see and thank Dr. Charles Stanley for when the journal first came out--Dr Stanley told of a story. He said a person on a camping trip with a camera sees things differently and that it was important to write things down in a diary as you will see life differently.
I just about cried when I heard that because it was a word from the Lord telling me what this journal was about--so that people will see their life journey differently--it was to be their camera on their own trip through life.
The Lord had put it on my friend Tonya who was pregant that we had to go there and so we did. We prayed at the start of the trip for safe travel and I even prayed to be able to hug Dr. Stanley. It was amazing we got there safely, timely and had excellent front seating with a guide even. There was a young man with a mike that spoke to us and even told us where to go to shake Dr. Stanley's hand at the end and that we can even have our picture taken with him. Lo and behold--we did--we were fourth, fifth and sixth in line. We had our picture taken with him and a funny thing--the City On A Hill Prayer Journal I was holding was turned facing the camera and Dr. Stanley was right behind me with Tonya on the right and Brigitte on the left. I even got to hug him--Tonya and Brigitte only shook his hands. God is in the detail. What an amazing, wonderful God we serve. Nothing is too hard for him.
